Amid their ongoing working relationship, it has been revealed that WWE is in opposition to a TNA Wrestling trademark.

At Royal Rumble 2024, TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace made her debut with the company in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Then in June, WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling started a working relationship that began with Grace challenging Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women’s Championship at Battleground.
Since then, Joe Hendry and The Rascalz have been featured on NXT television, while Wes Lee and Charlie Dempsey have appeared on TNA IMPACT.
According to trademark documents, WWE has requested a 90-day extension to oppose the trademark of “Santino Marella” on September 19.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet in 2023, Santino, real name Anthony Carelli, discussed getting the trademark of his WWE ring name. He said:
“Yeah, so the big thing, I guess in 2021, somebody did not renew the trademark. And as a habit.”
“When IMPACT gets guys that were former WWE guys, they look up the trademarks, you know, they have to come up with a name for me. Well, what can they call me? St. Tino? Or you know, something? [Santino’s real name is Anthony] Anthony? No, nobody wants to see Anthony.”
“I found out you know, nobody really wants to see Anthony they’ve in fact disappointed when they see Anthony. But it [Santino] was available, IMPACT grabbed it.”
“And it’s great news, you know. I was gonna have a great time anyway. But the fact that I can be Santino Marella and be the genuine article, and not a knockoff, it was just the icing on the cake.”

Santino’s daughter Arianna Grace is currently signed to a WWE developmental contract and is on the NXT brand. She is also serving as the on-screen liaison for the WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling partnership.
