WWE has crowned the first ever NXT Women’s North American Champion in Las Vegas at the UFC Apex at Battleground.
The opening match at NXT Battleground premium live event was the six-woman ladder match to determine the first ever holder of the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
In the match – Michin, Jaida Parker, Fallon Henley, Sol Ruca, Kelani Jordan and Lash Legend.
Vic Joseph on commentary referenced current AEW star Adam Cole at the very start of the match, as he was the inaugural winner of the men’s NXT North American Championship, also crowned in a six-man ladder match back in 2018.
In the end tonight’s ladder match came down to Kelani Jordan and Michin in the ring, with Jordan able to take Michin out, climb the ladder, and become the first ever NXT Women’s North American Champion.
Elsewhere set for tonight’s NXT Battleground, NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez puts her title on the line in a match against TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace.
The main event of the show will see former AEW star Ethan Page make his WWE debut, challenging Trick Williams for the NXT Championship.
