2025 marks the retirement year for John Cena and WWE Raw making its move away from broadcast television to Netflix.
Cena announced his retirement plans at WWE Money in the Bank on July 6, going on to note that he’s planning to go “through January to December” of 2025.
With WWE Raw moving to Netflix in January 2025, it has now been reported that this will be the home of John Cena as his retirement tour begins.
As reported by WKRD Wrestling, Cena is expected to have a “heavy presence on the initial few months of WWE Raw on Netflix.”
In his comments about the retirement plan, Cena revealed that he approached WWE with the idea and that they “kind of initiated the talks” about the timing.
Cena would also note that he expects to appear for a “mid-30s to 40s” number of dates throughout 2025 and has no intentions to distance himself from the business after his in-ring career ends.
Cena last wrestled on the April 8 episode of WWE Raw, teaming with Awesome Truth (R-Truth & The Miz) to defeat Judgment Day (Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor & JD McDonagh), highlights of which can be seen below this news story.
The sixteen-time WWE World Champion recently commented on the possibility of adding a seventh championship run to his record.
