A WWE star has scored a significant victory, winning a singles match with the company for the first time in three years.
Most of Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis’ success in WWE has been in the tag-team division, with the star previously part of the Hit Row faction, and currently aligned with Cedric Alexander.
Adonis was in action on Tuesday’s (August 20) NXT episode, facing off against Dion Lennox in singles action.
The former Hit Row member won this match, marking Adonis’ first singles victory in over three years.
Prior to this, Adonis’ last one-on-one win came on April 20, 2021, when he defeated August Grey at a 205 Live taping.
Interestingly, Adonis’ only singles victories came on 205 Live or at NXT house shows, so this was actually his first singles win on WWE TV (opposed to on streaming).
His last singles defeat came on the July 23 NXT episode, when he lost to Oro Mensah.
Next week’s No Mercy go-home edition of NXT was taped following this Tuesday’s episode.
It was an eventful taping, with TNA Wrestling stars in action, and crossover matches confirmed for No Mercy.
