Following an eventful June 21 SmackDown, a new report has revealed the planned main event for the upcoming WWE SummerSlam event.
On the June 21 edition of Friday Night SmackDown, The Bloodline underwent another big change as former MLW Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu made his long awaited WWE debut.
Fatu proceeded to beat down and destroy Randy Orton, Kevin Owens and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at the behest of the new Head of the Table, Solo Sikoa.
The interference of The Bloodline, Orton and Owens led to a disqualification finish in the Rhodes vs. Sikoa main event match.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa for the Undisputed WWE Championship is currently the planned main event for SummerSlam.
When asked about the match, Meltzer said:
“It is the planned main event at SummerSlam.”
SummerSlam 2024 will take place on Saturday, August 3 from Cleveland, Ohio.
