The SummerSlam match for Cody Rhodes looks to be confirmed as he faced off with Solo Sikoa and the Bloodline on WWE SmackDown.
In a segment to end tonight’s show, Cody Rhodes made it clear he was ready to fight Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam 2024.
While the formality of having Nick Aldis approve may be forthcoming, Rhodes stated that, as far as he’s concerned, a match between himself and Sikoa is on for SummerSlam.
The segment would go on to feature a personal beatdown that will surely only serve to fuel the rivalry.
Cody Rhodes came out to the ring alone to confront the Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) after Fatu had just unceremoniously cleared the ring for their entrance, attacking Austin Theory and DIY.
Cody came out alone, but once a beatdown began, Randy Orton joined him in the fight but they both would end up feeling the wrath of the new Bloodline.
After Solo and Jacob Fatu got Rhodes tied up in the ring ropes and Orton incapacitated by the steps the outside of the ring, Rhodes pleaded with them to stop attacking Randy, but to attack Cody himself instead.
Instead the targeting of Orton continued as Rhodes was helpless, just left to watch Orton be driven through the commentary table.
Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, there was an update on the potential split of a tag team after another loss led to another moment of betrayal.
