Kazuchika Okada has expressed excitement to face another top AEW star after Bryan Danielson.
At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Kazuchika Okada will face Bryan Danielson in a first time ever dream match. However, this will not be Okada’s first time interacting with the Blackpool Combat Club.
At NJPW Dominion, Okada teamed with Hiroshi Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii to successfully defend the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships over Shota Umino, Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley of the BCC.
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated ahead of Forbidden Door, “The Rainmaker” discussed a potential matchup against Moxley. In regards to a potential singles match with the former three-time AEW World Champion, Okada said:
“My focus is on Danielson, not him. But having wrestled him in tag matches, I felt he’s better than I’d imagined. I’d definitely be excited to wrestle him in a singles match someday.”
Okada and Moxley have teamed up back in 2020 at a NJPW event, and also were on opposite sides of a trios bout at NJPW Resurgence last month.
Both men will be on the card for this Sunday’s pay-per-view with Moxley teaming up with Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Konosuke Takeshita and Shota Umino to face Eddie Kingston, Tomohiro Ishii and The Elite’s Hangman Adam Page and The Young Bucks in a ten man tag team match.
