A backstage update has emerged on the decision to have Kazuchika Okada join forces with the Young Bucks in AEW.

Matthew and Nicholas Jackson shared some big announcements on the March 6 edition of Dynamite.
After indefinitely suspending Hangman Page from the Elite, and ‘firing’ Kenny Omega from the faction altogether, the duo revealed that former NJPW star Kazuchika Okada had joined their stable.
Okada appeared to help the Bucks beat down Eddie Kingston, before teasing that he wants Kingston’s Continental Crown Title.
Per Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Tony Khan had the idea for this trio months ago.

Noting that Khan, Okada, Matthew and Nicholas knew about these plans for ‘literally months’, Meltzer said:
“The Young Bucks segment with Okada, that has been known by the Young Bucks and Okada and Tony Khan for literally months.
“Or, I mean, it was Tony Khan’s idea to do this, a long time ago, the show after Revolution.”

Kenny Omega has now reacted after getting kicked out of the Elite, which you can read more about right here.
