A big change has reportedly been made to an anticipated upcoming AEW pay-per-view event this Summer.
Less than two weeks away from the first-ever AEW Dynasty pay-per-view on April 21, it seems that a big change is afoot for one of the staples of their Summer schedule.
According to Andrew Zarian on the first edition of Fightful’s new Beyond the Bell podcast, it was reported that AEW have decided to move the third annual Forbidden Door event from it’s planned location of Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.
The reason for this change, according to a follow-up from Fightful Select is in relation to the AEW’s collaborators for the event NJPW, with it being reported that the promotion did not want to split the high production costs for the venue.
While no concrete details have been announced by AEW regarding the event, it was reported back in February by Zarian that the event was set to take place at Arthur Ashe in June.
Arthur Ashe has become the traditional home of AEW Dynamite Grand Slam in September over the past three years.
