A new AEW faction name has potentially been revealed, with Chris Jericho filing to trademark several terms with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
On Wednesday (April 10), Jericho filed applications to trademark three phrases, “The Rarified Air of Jericho”, “The Educator” and “The Learning Tree”.
Per the filings, Jericho intends for these trademarks to cover categories including “entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests.”
The following description accompanied all filings:
Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer;
Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network;
Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes
Michael E. Dockins was listed as the attorney for all three filings. The applications were made by Jericho under his real name Chris Irvine.
Upon seeing the filings, some fans have speculated that The Learning Tree could be the name for a new faction.
Jericho last wrestled on Wednesday’s (April 10) edition of Dynamite, teaming with Hook and Katsuyori Shibata in a losing effort against Anthony Ogogo, Lee Moriarty & Shane Taylor.
This episode was notable for several reasons, with fans also talking about Will Ospreay firing shots at WWE’s Triple H in a live promo.
