Current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has paid tribute to former AEW TNT Champion Brodie Lee in a heartfelt post.
After founding All Elite Wrestling alongside Tony Khan, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes left the company following the expiration of his contract in 2022.
Rhodes went on to sign with WWE and made his return to the company at WrestleMania 38 that same year.
Following a two-year journey, “The American Nightmare” finally finished his story by defeating Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 40.
Paying tribute to his greatest AEW rival and their classic battle, Cody Rhodes took to social media to quote tweet a highlight package of his Dog Collar Match against Brodie Lee from the October 7, 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite. He wrote:
Brodie gave me a beating and gave the world an incredible and magnificent final show

Cody Rhodes has remained a close friend of Brodie Lee’s family following his passing. This included Brodie’s son Brodie Lee Jr. getting in the ring following Cody’s Undisputed WWE Championship win at WrestleMania 40.
Rhodes is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against United States Champion Logan Paul this Saturday, May 25 at WWE King And Queen of the Ring.
