WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry has confirmed that he’s leaving AEW when his contract expires on May 28, 2024.
Henry made the announcement on Busted Open Radio going on to say that he’s not leaving pro-wrestling altogether.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion has taken time to react to some of the comments on Twitter.
In response to a tweet that claimed “all he does is trash AEW anyway”, Mark Henry replied:
You confuse critiquing with trashing because you don’t know what you’re talking about just because you watch something don’t mean you know it. I’ve seen surgeries but I can’t do it. https://t.co/rTuMVHRmJ4

Another comment commented on their version of why Henry signed with AEW back in 2021, stating:
Mark Henry leaving AEW isn't a surprise. He came to work behind the scenes & be a commentator for Rampage. Also wanted an in ring return if the chance arose. Jericho took his spot & eventually reduced to a soundbite. Plus he wasn't afraid to voice his opinions on company matters.

Henry would respond with a short message to the various points, tweeting:
Wrong! Not worth explaining. https://t.co/dZ3xKtHuaQ

He would also respond to the suggestion that he “came into AEW thinking he was going to be having a Sting-type run…” with a very simple “Wrong.”
Henry signed with WWE in 1996 after that year’s Olympic Games and entering into a reported ten-year contract.
He would remain with the company until 2021 and be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2018.
