Warner Bros. Discovery’s reaction to the recent TV ratings and viewership of AEW Dynamite has been revealed.
AEW and WBD have reportedly been in ongoing negotiations regarding AEW’s media rights renewal, with plenty of differing information as to how those negotiations have been progressing.
Former Hollywood Reporter Editor Matthew Belloni recently reported on the Puck ‘Mail Room’ Newsletter that Tony Khan was ‘disappointed’ with WBD’s renewal offer, however, this has been refuted by the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
While it’s unclear what the current situation is, a new report seems to point towards WBD at the very least being happy with how AEW Dynamite is performing on their network.
According to a WBD source who spoke with PWInsider, the network has been “very happy” with how the audience demo and rating has risen for Dynamite across the last four weeks.
WBD’s exclusivity negotiation window with AEW reportedly ends in July, with Tony Khan free to speak to other networks after that point should a new deal not be agreed upon.
JJA Sport Studio will provide further updates on AEW’s media rights negotiations as/when they become available.
