AEW has filed a new trademark application for a previously cancelled pay-per-view match, hinting we may see it one day.
On the February 21, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite, the company announced a new match type in the “Meat Madness Match” that was set to debut at AEW Revolution.
Unfortunately, Tony Khan would later reveal that the match had to be cancelled due to a number of the competitors not being cleared through injury.
In the days between the announcement and cancelation, AEW filed a trademark application for the term “AEW: MEAT MADNESS“.
It looks like there’s no end to the Meat Madness, however, with AEW now filing a new trademark application specifically for the term.
The application was made through the United States Patent and Trademark Office on August 8, 2024.
According to US Serial Number 98688480, an application for the term ‘Meat Madness’ is currently awaiting assignment to an examiner.
The Goods and Services category for the application advises that ‘Meat Madness’ relates to:
Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of live wrestling performances; Entertainment services in the nature of production of wrestling programs and events; Entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring wrestling distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Entertainment services, namely, production and distribution of ongoing television programs in the field of wrestling.
At the time of writing, there’s no news as to when we could see the Meat Madness match or who will be competing in it.
JJA Sport Studio will keep its readers updated on Meat Madness as the news emerges.
