Here’s the latest update on Bryan Danielson’s AEW status and future with the promotion, ahead of his potential in-ring retirement.

While Danielson has essentially had a year long farewell tour ahead of stepping away from full-time competition, there is a chance that Danielson will never wrestle again after All In London.
Danielson has vowed to retire from wrestling completely if he loses to Swerve Strickland in their AEW World Title match, meaning that there’s currently a lot of uncertainty surrounding his in-ring future heading into Sunday’s show.

Adding to this uncertainty is the fact that Danielson officially became a free agent earlier this month after his AEW contract expired.
Per Fightful Select, AEW sources expect “renewed efforts” to get a working agreement in place whenever Danielson’s current run concludes, rather than Danielson remaining a complete free agent.

Per the report, Danielson has legitimately been working without a contract for three weeks, as a talent as well as in his disciplinary committee and creative duties.
The report also noted that WWE sources claim they’ve not reached out to Danielson while he has been a free agent, but claim that he’s widely loved and respected within WWE.
Danielson recently stated that, to his knowledge, no other company has reached out to him with a contract offer.
