AEW’s Daniel Garcia has commented on speculation of his current contract negotiations and the difficulties that it brings amid reported WWE interest.

During the post-show media scrum at AEW All In, Tony Khan spoke about Garcia’s status after his return during the show itself.
While Khan wouldn’t be drawn on Garcia’s contract status, he did say that he is “a great part of AEW”.

During a recent appearance on Good Karma Wrestling, Garcia discussed issues with speculation over his future following reports of WWE interest, saying:
“I won’t lie, I mean, it can be difficult sometimes when every time you open up your phone and it’s somebody assuming something about you and your life. Not even just your career. It’s real-life stuff that people are assuming about.
“So sometimes it can be a little difficult and it can get into your head and it can make you just question everything and it can be frustrating because you’re like, ‘Where is this information coming from? Where are people getting this information?’
“So honestly, it can be a lot to process sometimes but, I think if you just, you know, move with integrity, stick to your guns and have full belief that you’re doing what’s right and that you will do what’s right, I think that’s what matters most. I think if you do that, it can be easier to block out the noise than if you’re not.”

With Swerve Strickland signing a new deal and Garcia reportedly having an offer from AEW, Dave Meltzer recently revealed the reaction to the money involved.
According to Meltzer, the figures were “so far over what WWE would perceive the market value for both to be, with the idea he’s spending more than he needs to and raising salaries.”
After AEW All In, it was reported that WWE expected Garcia to stay with AEW with his current deal expiring later this year.

Garcia made his AEW debut in September 2020 and signed with the company in October 2021.
JJA Sport Studio will provide further updates on Garcia’s AEW future as/when they become available.
