Ahead of All Out 2024, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has discussed a new variation of an AEW stipulation match.
On the April 24 edition of AEW Dynamite, the company introduced its new stipulation in the Casino Gauntlet match. The stipulation made its return on the May 29 episode of Dynamite, with Will Ospreay winning both of the first two iterations of the stipulation.
At All In London, Christian Cage won the third edition of the Casino Gauntlet to earn a guaranteed AEW World Title shot.
On the AEW All Out 2024 conference call, Tony Khan was asked about the possibility of bringing the stipulation to the company’s women’s division, whether at All Out or elsewhere in the future. On wanting to introduce it at some point in the future, he answered:
“It would be great to advertise and build up in the future,”
“And the Casino Gauntlet match is something that I invented this year, and it has really taken off. All three of them have been incredibly well received.”
“They’ve also all been in hometowns of mine, with the great Casino Gauntlet we’ve done in Los Angeles. First one was in Jacksonville, then Los Angeles, then Wembley Stadium in London.”
“I would absolutely love to bring Casino Gauntlet to Chicago [the site of All Out] at some time,”
“And I do think a women’s Casino Gauntlet match can be a tremendous match too at some point. So, it is something that I have thought about and would like to do in the future.”
Despite having no Casino Gauntlet, the women’s division will be represented with two matches at AEW All Out as Mercedes Mone will face Hikaru Shida for the TBS Championship, while Willow Nightingale will face Kris Statlander in a Chicago Street Fight.
