A departure from the All Elite Wrestling (AEW) backstage team has been confirmed according to a new report.

Jimmy Jacobs is said to be gone from his role on the writing team in AEW.
As reported by Fightful Select, Jacobs “effectively resigned” from his position on the writing team some time in the past week.

The two sides are still described as being on “amicable terms”, and AEW is going to try to look at Jacobs’ departure as a way to “freshen up” the writers’ room.
Jacobs had reportedly been feeling “burned out” in recent times.

Tony Khan recently spoke in a post-show press conference about Jacobs as the person who’d been at the most shows out of anyone since he joined the company in June 2023.
During that time, he also wrestled two matches in Ring of Honor, although one of those was a loss in under a minute to Satnam Singh.
Prior to joining AEW, Jacobs worked in TNA, and before that, he was on WWE’s creative team for a couple of years before he was fired in 2017 after he posted a photo with the Young Bucks when they ‘invaded’ Raw on Being The Elite.
