TNA Knockouts World Champion Jordynne Grace faced NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at Battleground on June 9, 2024.

Highlights from the match can be seen below this news story with it being Grace’s second singles match in NXT after facing Stevie Turner.
Perez would retain the NXT Women’s Championship despite a concerted effort from Grace who later showed off an injury to her ear sustained during the match.

Grace recently spot to Sean Ross Sapp from Fightful about her WWE NXT Battleground match experience, saying:
“I do think it was a strong performance but I feel like I can do better.
“I feel like the WWE Universe hasn’t witnessed what I can do yet.”

One of the reasons WWE fans may not have witnessed Grace at her best is due to the ‘limitations’ placed upon her.
Grace would highlight examples of what she couldn’t do during her WWE match, stating:
“Can’t do any piledrivers, only certain people. They don’t know me like that (laughs).”
“I gotta get some more like credibility under my belt first before I start busting out trapped-arm piledrivers I don’t know.”

WWE producer Hurricane Helms previously addressed Cody Rhodes using the banned Vertebreaker at WWE King & Queen of the Ring.
In 2019, Helms confirmed that WWE had banned the Vertebreaker as part of that regime’s mandate to eliminate “all piledriver type maneuvers except for the Tombstone.”
