On tonight’s SmackDown, there was a big stipulation revealed for Cody Rhodes vs AJ Styles at WWE Clash at the Castle.
With Cody Rhodes spending the first half of the show in the parking lot awaiting the arrival of AJ Styles, Styles would eventually appear.
With security and General Manager Nick Aldis all flanking both Rhodes and Styles to make sure a fight didn’t break out, Rhodes instead headed out to the ring.
When Styles, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows then came out onto the stage, Styles said he wasn’t going to fight Cody tonight, but instead wanted a championship match at Clash at the Castle.
Rhodes accepted the match, but also announced that it would be contested as an “I Quit” match.
After Rhodes said Styles should have quit last week, the match was then made official by Aldis.
Elsewhere in a backstage segment, Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill revealed that they would be defending their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship at Clash at the Castle as well.
The match will be a three-way featuring the teams of Shayna Baszler and Zoey Stark as well as the Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Alba Dawn).
