‘Dirty’ Dominik Mysterio has provided an important WWE injury update, with information that counters a recent report.

After sporting a sling on this week’s WWE Raw (April 22) and being pulled from a scheduled match on the same show, the injury status of Mysterio has been the subject of reports throughout the week.
Earlier today (April 26) Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter provided the following update regarding Mysterio’s status – reporting that The Judgment Day member was set to undergo surgery on his elbow – facing a stint on the sidelines as a result.

Meltzer wrote:
Dominik Mysterio also had an elbow injury. It apparently happened in a 4/15 match with Andrade and was described to us as a freak accident.
He will be undergoing Tommy John surgery on his elbow which for a baseball pitcher means at least nine months out.
Since he doesn’t have to throw pitches hard, his recovery time would probably be a little shorter.
As of right now, the plan would be to keep him as a television character while recovering.
He was off the European tour and had his arm in a sling at Raw.

However, just hours after that information was published the Mysterio has now posted a new tweet that paints a more hopeful picture regarding his status, revealing that he will in fact not have to undergo surgery at all.
Mysterio tweeted the following, alongside a GIF of Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street saying “I’m not f**king leaving”:

It’s unclear what this update means for Mysterio’s absence and timeline for an in-ring return, but as Mysterio’s tweet suggests it seems as if at the very least he will be sticking around on WWE TV despite his injury.
JJA Sport Studio will provide further updates as/when they become available.
