After over a year of rampant speculation regarding his future, it was finally confirmed that Drew McIntyre has indeed re-signed with WWE.
The news was interestingly announced by none other than WWE’s ‘Final Boss’ and TKO board member The Rock via Instagram, of which he posted a video of McIntyre receiving a sword whilst at a restaurant.
Now, following the news breaking McIntyre has now responded to The Rock, acknowledging comments that Rock had made back in 2019 regarding who he felt could reach the heights of he and John Cena in WWE at the time.
In the video Rock names McIntyre as someone he personally was fond of – hailing the Scotsman for his look and build.
Retweeting the clip, McIntyre quoted something Rock said many times during the beginning of his most recent run leading into WrestleMania 40, writing:
Recorded in 2019...
