An update has emerged on a notable WWE star’s contract status, with their current deal set to expire soon.
While many have argued that Chad Gable has been one of WWE’s most underrated stars for years, the former Olympian is currently being prominently featured on Raw.
Fightful Select now reports that Chad Gable’s contract is currently set to expire late next week, with it indicated that his deal will be up on Friday. As of writing, no deal has been reached following a big character change.
Fightful reports that WWE has been interested in re-signing Gable. The report also noted that there will be a “strong push” from talent in other promotions to sign Gable if his contract does expire.
Gable has been with WWE since signing with the company in November 2013. He has held several titles during his WWE stint, including the Raw, SmackDown and NXT tag-team championships.
Chad Gable is currently feuding with Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn, with the former tag team champion attacking Zayn following their match on the April 15 Raw episode.
There has also been friction between Gable and his Alpha Academy faction members recently, namely Otis, who accidentally clotheslined Gable during the Intercontinental Title threeway bout at King & Queen of the Ring.
This match, also featuring Sami Zayn and Bronson Reed, was Chad Gable’s most recent match.
His last appearance on WWE TV saw him attempt to whip Otis with a belt on Monday’s (May 27).
There’s also some uncertainty surrounding WWE Women’s World Champion Becky Lynch’s in-ring future, with her current deal set to expire this week.
