A WWE star’s recent return from injury came earlier than those within the company had originally expected.
On an eventful June 4 edition of NXT one unexpected surprise came in the form of the return of former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion Jacy Jayne.
Jayne had been off TV since NXT Spring Breakin’ on April 30, where she suffered a fractured nose during he match with Thea Hail.
Jayne would later undergo surgery for the injury, but no new updates were learned in the weeks that followed as to when Jayne would be expected back on TV.
Much to the surprise of fans, Jayne would then appear out of the blue on the June 4 episode of NXT, alongside her teammate Jazmyn Nyx.
Jayne did not get physical upon her return and would sport a protective face mask, as she and Jazmyn Nyx watched on during the six-woman tag team match on the show.
According to Fightful Select, Jayne’s return came “ahead of schedule”, with NXT boss Shawn Michaels standing in for Jayne as a placeholder during NXT rehearsals in order to keep Jayne’s return a secret.
