A WWE star has reportedly informed the company that he intends to leave when his current contract expires this summer.
WWE has multiple contracts coming due, and one of those belongs to former United States and Intercontinental Champion Ricochet.
According to PWInsider, they confirmed with multiple sources that Ricochet has given notice to WWE that he intends to depart the company when his contract expires.
The report notes that Ricochet is expected to be written out of storylines and off TV “very soon” ahead of his exit.
Ricochet’s most recent storyline involvement on WWE Raw has been something of a three-way rivalry with Ilja Dragunov and Bron Breakker.
Dragunov and Breakker have both beaten Ricochet in singles matches lately, and are set to face each other on the next episode of Raw.
Ricochet hasn’t had a singles win on Raw since April 1 when he defeated Ivar.
As well as the aforementioned US and IC Titles, Ricochet is also a former NXT North American Champion and WWE Speed Champion.
Andrade won the Speed Championship in a match against Ricochet after this past Friday’s episode of SmackDown.
Will Ospreay recently named Ricochet as someone he wants to face in AEW.
We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
