An update has emerged on a star rumored to be joining WWE’s Bloodline faction, amid speculation after his most recent match.
Solo Sikoa has made some major changes to the Bloodline in Roman Reigns’ absence, kicking Jimmy Uso out of the group and adding former NJPW stars Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to the lineup.
Following previous speculation about WWE also adding Tama Tonga’s brother Hikuleo to the group, it was reported earlier this year that Hikuleo’s NJPW contract was set to run into June.
Hikuleo had an interesting showing in his match at the June 9 NJPW Dominion event, with the son of Haku and his tag-team partner El Phantasmo eliminated first in the Winners Take All tag-team fourway for both the IWGP Tag Team and Strong Openweight Tag Team titles.
With fans previously theorising that this was Hikuleo’s final match in NJPW, Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net now reports that Hikuleo has finished up with NJPW, with his final date for the company being June 9.
The report noted that it is believed that Hikuleo is indeed WWE-bound.
WWE has been interested in Hikuleo for a while, with the now-former NJPW star confirming that he previously had talks with WWE.
As was previously reported, Hikuleo was one of several stars who WWE missed out on signing during the company’s previous ‘hiring freeze’.
Many fans have predicted that Hikuleo will join his family in the Bloodline, with his brother Tama Tonga recently named the “Right Hand Man” by Solo Sikoa.
WWE also has Jacob Fatu signed, who has yet to make his on-screen debut.
