Former WWE Champion Big E has congratulated Kelani Jordan following her major win at the NXT Battleground premium live event.
In the first match of the June 9 event, Kelani Jordan, Sol Ruca, Lash Legend, Fallon Henley, Jaida Parker and Michin competed in a ladder match to determine the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion.
Jordan was ultimately victorious, becoming the first person to hold the Women’s North American Championship.
Big E has now taken to Twitter to reflect on Jordan’s career, recalling watching the new champion during her WWE tryout.
Sending a message to the former college athlete, Big E wrote:
Been a joy to watch @kelani_wwe’s growth. I was there for her tryout just a couple years ago. Transitioning from college athletics to this industry of ours is not easy. And she’s smoking it. Congrats, you star!

Jordan was a collegiate gymnast who competed on behalf of Michigan State University ahead of joining WWE.
There are a number of college athletes on the NXT roster, with Big E recently stating that one of them should win a main roster world championship soon.
