A former champion has revealed their conversations with SmackDown star Randy Orton regarding a future WWE return.

In September 2023, former WWE United States Champion Matt Riddle was released from the company, bringing an end to  a six-year tenure.
Since his departure, Riddle has competed all across the world for NJPW, MLW, AAA and more, as well as welcome a brand new baby into the world.
Despite staying busy since his WWE exit, he revealed in a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm that he still gets quizzed if he’s coming back to the company by his former RK-Bro tag team partner Randy Orton.

Riddle said:
“I talked to Randy probably a week and a half, two weeks ago about an arcade, we talked about some other stuff, just hanging out.
“He always asks me if I wanna come back, and I’m like, ‘Maybe one day.’ Right now, with the kid and everything, I’m enjoying my time, and I’m trying to get my life all together.
“Not that you’ll ever get your life together, but yeah, you know, things have been really good. I’m focusing a lot on myself and other things.”

Orton and Riddle had a successful run as a tag team in WWE prior to Orton’s lengthy injury hiatus between May 2022 and November 2023 – winning the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships on two occasions.
