Ahead of Money In The Bank, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has explained his “unique relationship” with Seth Rollins.
When Cody Rhodes made his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, he answered an open challenge from top star Seth Rollins. The two went on to have two more memorable matches in 2022, including a Hell In A Cell Match where Cody competed with a torn pectoral muscle.
At WWE WrestleMania 40 Night One, The Rock and Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the main event.
During a new interview with The Pivot Podcast, Cody Rhodes explained his “unique relationship” with Seth Rollins over the years. He said:
“Seth is one I was not friends with at all and I felt like I was chasing The Shield as they were the hot young act and I had been there and they just superseded everybody and they were amazing and deserved it. I had been chasing them so I came in a little sour.”
“After you wrestle a match with a completely torn pec against somebody like that in a dangerous setting like Hell in a Cell, no matter what, you have to leave with a love for him.
“Even to this day I’ll still say I don’t like Seth but… so my bus at WrestleMania catches fire outside the Lincoln Financial. Huge fireball on top of my bus, I’m certain it’s going to burn down.”
“The first bus I ran to was his. Like a little kid I was just watching through the window as these men tried to put out a fire.”
“He’s been my guy since I came back to WWE, I love Seth.”
Cody Rhodes will team with Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to face The Bloodline, while Seth Rollins will challenge Damian Priest for the World Heavyweight Championship this Saturday, July 6 at WWE Money In The Bank. For the full lineup for the show, click here.
