AJ Styles has commented ahead of his upcoming international crossover dream match amid a new WWE partnership.
WWE’s AJ Styles is set to take part in a big international dream match this weekend, when he faces Naomichi Marufuji at Pro Wrestling Destination event on Saturday, July 13.
Styles arrived in Japan earlier this week, where he spoke to Abema Wrestling, commenting on his first-ever match with Marufuji.
He said:
“I have very much missed Japan, I don’t think I’ve been back since the pandemic so that’s five years ago, maybe a little less. So thankful to be back.
“I do believe this is the first time that me and Marufuji have met. I’ve known about him and his career in NOAH and I know how talented he is, I mean he’s got a resume that speaks for itself , he’s very talented and it just so happens we get to be in the same ring together and I’m very excited about it.”
Styles isn’t the only top WWE star competing in Japan this weekend, with former WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY set to compete for Marigold against Utami Hayashishita.
