Following the release of the movie, WWE star Kairi Sane has shared the popular Wolverine meme for the absent Asuka of Damage CTRL.
In May, Asuka was pulled from the King & Queen of the Ring tournament due to a leg injury. Since then, the former WWE Women’s Champion has been absent from the company’s programming.
Prior to her injury, Asuka reunited the Kabuki Warriors tag team with Kairi Sane as part of Damage CTRL. The duo won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships before dropping the titles to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair at Backlash: France.
On July 29, Kairi Sane took to her Instagram story to share the famous Wolverine meme of the character looking longingly at a photo, with herself as the X-Men member looking at a picture of Asuka.
In the next entry on her story, Sane shared a photo of herself alongside Asuka further expressing how she misses her tag team partner.
Asuka recently returned on a WWE live event in Japan as part of the company’s tour of the country where she appeared in Damage CTRL’s corner without her crutches.
It remains to be seen when “The Empress of Tomorrow” will return to WWE TV at the time of this writing.
