WWE star CM Punk reveals the real-life story behind one of his most asked-about untelevised matches, a tryout against the Road Warriors.
In a new clip released by the official WWE Vault channel, CM Punk’s original tryout in WWE is unearthed as he faced off against the Road Warriors.
Punk noted that he had previously worked a WWE dark match match, during which he did a “Grapevine Hammerlock DDT” that was promptly deemed too dangerous.
He even heard rumor that he was poised to be banned as well, but he was already booked for another show.
Still booked for the next show CM Punk recalled that after numerous others were failing to impress, Sgt Slaughter asked him to step in.
In the tag team match, CM Punk teams with ‘Doug Delicious’ to take on the Road Warriors.
