With the WWE Raw and SmackDown GMs being former NWA World Heavyweight Champions, Adam Pearce has opened up about a possible match.

Pearce is the current WWE Raw General Manager and a five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
Over on WWE SmackDown, Nick Aldis serves as General Manager and is also a former two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion.

On a recent episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Pearce discussed the possibility of the two authorities figures crossing paths in the ring, saying:
“There is something there. There is a lot of errant opportunity between Mr. Aldis and I. Here’s the thing: you have to want that. I don’t think he wants that. No, that’d be fun.
“Neither one of us, Nick and I, are ever going to angle for a position in the spotlight like that. I think we’re both content, happy, and honored to have the positions we have currently in WWE.
“There is only one general manager for the show. It’s highly important. It has been the pinnacle of my professional performing career and I hope that continues into the future.”

Pearce wouldn’t completely rule out the possibility of a match, however, stating:
“As I’ve said 100 times privately and publicly, I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty either. If the situation calls for it, I’m sure Nick would be down for it.”

He would also note that the match would appeal to the modern era of NWA fans, concluding:
“I think there is a whole litany of NWA fans who have played that ‘What If?’ game. Our names are always connected when people talk about that, especially in the modern era. What would happen? It’d be fun for a lot of different groups of wrestling fans.”

Pearce last stepped into the ring on the March 1, 2021 episode of WWE Raw, teaming with Braun Strowman to face The Hurt Business (Cedric Alexander & Shelton Benjamin).
Aldis had his last match in October 2023 at ACW Bluegrass Con facing Caleb Konley, Beastman, Facade and Matthew Justice for the ACW Bluegrass Con Championship.
