Following his recent interaction with Drew McIntyre, Wade Barrett’s in-ring return has been predicted by WWE Hall of Famer JBL.

On the September 9 episode of WWE Raw, Drew McIntyre confronted his real life friend and WWE commentator Wade Barrett about stepping in his way during his recent attack on CM Punk the week following.
This led many fans to speculate if this could start an angle that leads to Barrett’s in-ring return in WWE. Barrett wrestled for the company from 2006 to 2016 and is a former five-time Intercontinental Champion.
Another star who knows about making the transition from wrestler to announcer is WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield.

Speaking on Huge Pop, JBL was asked about Wade Barrett and his potential return in the ring. He answered:
“He’s still young. He was a good worker. Yeah, I think he probably will. If I were him, do it. You have all of your life to do commentary.”
“You don’t have all your life to get into the ring. If I’m him, if you still have the urge, just try it. If it doesn’t work out, so what, go back to commentary. If it does, you’ve got something, and then go back to commentary,”

It remains to be seen if Wade Barrett will return to in-ring competition at the time of this writing.
Barrett is currently on the Monday Night Raw commentary team alongside Joe Tessitore.
Meanwhile, JBL has recently made his presence known across multiple promotions, making appearances for TNA Wrestling, GCW, AAA, OVW and MLW.
