WWE has shared a wholesome backstage interaction between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes from this week’s Raw show.
Cody Rhodes and CM Punk were the final two participants in the 2024 Royal Rumble match, with Cody last eliminating Punk to win the match.
During the match, CM Punk suffered a torn triceps, an injury which will now see him miss WrestleMania 40.
Punk opened up this week’s Raw, where he announced the injury and that he wouldn’t be at WrestleMania.
WWE has now shared a backstage interaction between Cody and Punk from this week’s Raw show, with the two sharing a hug and Punk telling Cody to ‘finish his story’.
On the show, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins confronted Cody, telling him to choose to face him at WrestleMania rather than a rematch with Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Cody has yet to make a decision on which champion he wants to face at the show, saying he will be on this week’s SmackDown show alongside Roman Reigns.
