Ilja Dragunov has suffered his first main roster defeat, losing to Jey Uso in the King of the Ring 2024 Quarterfinals on WWE Raw.

The pair faced each other on the May 13 episode of WWE Raw, with the whole match below this news story.
The victory for Uso now sets him on course to face Gunther, who also made a post-match appearance, on the May 20 episode of WWE Raw.

Speaking in a WWE Digital Exclusive after his match, Dragunov reflected on his loss, saying:
“I mean, what should I say? It’s so frustrating? It is.
“But, where actually is the shame to lose to the man called ‘The Main Event’, right?
“All I know now is I’m tired, I’m in pain but the beauty of it is that I’m already very dangerous in the ring.
“But, when I’m in pain, I’m an entire monster.”

Cathy Kelley would go on to ask for his predictions for the May 20 match between Gunther and Uso, with Dragunov responding:
“Predictions? I mean, they’re both like the absolute bar.
“The only prediction I can make is for myself and this prediction is no-one is safe anymore.
“And, to quote Shawn Michaels, what he said ‘I’m what the kids call a real problem.'”

Booker T has recently spoken about the appeal of Dragunov, saying that people will talk about him “20 years from now”.
Dragunov made his main roster debut on April 8 defeating Shinsuke Nakamura and would go on to defeat Ricochet in the WWE King of the Ring First Round match on May 6, 2024.
