WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY has challenged a SmackDown star to a match, ahead of her title defence at WrestleMania 40.

SKY made an appearance on Friday’s (March 15) edition of SmackDown, when she, Asuka and Kairi Sane interfered during Bayley’s match against Dakota Kai.
Naomi then ran down to try to make the save, but she and Bayley were ultimately outnumbered and Damage CTRL stood tall.
IYO SKY wasn’t satisfied with this however, with the champion appearing on SmackDown LowDown alongside Dakota Kai.
SKY addressed the camera to send a message for Naomi, telling her that she’ll see her next week. Byron Saxton then confirmed that SKY had challenged Naomi to a match on the March 22 edition of SmackDown.

This match hasn’t been officially announced at the time of writing.

SKY will defend her WWE Women’s Championship against Bayley at WrestleMania 40, following the Role Model’s Royal Rumble win in January.

Following her Rumble win, Bayley was kicked out of Damage CTRL, and while Dakota Kai initially sided with her, Kai turned on Bayley to re-join Damage CTRL on the March 1 episode of SmackDown.
A new title match was announced for WrestleMania 40 on Friday’s edition of SmackDown, which you can read more about right here.
