In the main event of WWE WrestleMania 40 night one, The Rock teamed with Roman Reigns to take on Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes.
The main event tag team match would end up seeing action inside and outside the ring as the rules were clearly relaxed with the idea of Rock using his managerial pull to threaten the referee if he wanted to disqualify him.
By the final third of the match, Roman Reigns inadvertently speared The Rock – Roman was aiming for Cody Rhodes, but Rollins managed to save Cody and Roman followed through and speared Rock instead.
There were no further issues between Rock and Roman after that, but it could definitely be a seed planted for a future match.
This gave an opportunity for Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins to nail stereo Pedigrees on their opponents but the Bloodline was still able to kick out.
Shortly thereafter, with a brawl on the outside it seemed as though The Rock was going to throw Cody through the commentary table, but instead, Cody landed a Rock Bottom on the Final Boss through the table.
Meanwhile, Roman Reigns speared Seth Rollins through the barricade, taking him out.
After a further exchange between Cody and Roman ended in The Rock whipping Cody with his custom Mama Rhodes belt, he hit Cody with the Rock Bottom again inside the ring.
Actually hitting the People’s Elbow this time, The Rock was able to land the finisher (after saying “this one’s for you Mama Rhodes” to Cody’s mom) and pin Cody Rhodes to pick up the victory for the Bloodline.
This means that tomorrow night’s WrestleMania 40 night two Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Cody and Roman will be ‘Bloodline Rules’, meaning there really aren’t any rules – ‘anything goes’.
