At WWE Bash in Berlin 2024, Cody Rhodes defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at German’s first ever PLE.

The match would center around Rhodes’ storyline knee injury that was noted by Owens on last night’s WWE SmackDown.
In an in-ring moment when Rhodes’ knee gave out on the second rope, Owens hesitated to strike and rather gave Cody space.
In a separate moment, Owens would decline to execute a Powerbomb on the ring apron on Rhodes after the champion was prone.
Despite going on to deliver a Stunner, when Owens went for a Swanton Bomb after, Rhodes got his knees up and was able to connect with Owens.

Cody would hit a Cross Rhodes before picking up the pinfall victory.
With the running theme of Owens struggling to execute when Rhodes was in vulnerable positions, his lack of ‘killer instinct’ was noted by Wade Barrett on commentary.
After the match, the pair would embrace in the ring with Kevin Owens ultimately batting the cameraman away from a seemingly personal moment.

Owens did not turn on Rhodes, instead hugging him before raising his hand in victory.
Michael Cole on commentary noted that Solo Sikoa is likely to challenge for Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship next.
