On tonight’s August 14 AEW Dynamite there was a match that was set to possibly change a major match at AEW All In London 2024.

In a TBS Championship match opening tonight’s show, Mercedes Mone defended the TBS Championship against Hikaru Shida.
This meant that if Shida won the match, it would be her that would go on to defend the championship against Britt Baker at All In.
However, Mone did pick up the win, confirming the highly promoted Mercedes Mone vs Britt Baker match is still on for AEW All In London.

After the match, Baker’s music hit and Kamille stood ready for her at the ramp, but when she saw someone in a mask at ringside, she attacked that person.
However, it turns out that masked person wasn’t Baker after all as she actually emerged through the crowd and snuck up behind Mone in the ring.
In the end, Mercedes would narrowly avoid being caught in Baker’s ‘Lock Jaw’ submission move, with Kamille pulling Mone out of the ring to save her.

Mercedes and Kamille were chased off with a kendo stick and abandoned the TBS Championship and the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship on the ring apron.
The segment would end with Baker holding up the TBS Championship in the center of the ring.
