A big update has emerged on Jack Perry’s wrestling status, following his AEW absence and ahead of this weekend’s Dynasty pay-per-view.
Jack Perry hasn’t appeared for AEW since losing the FTW Championship to Hook at All In London. With the backstage altercation between Perry and CM Punk from All In London recently shown on AEW TV, there has been a lot of speculation about Perry’s return to the promotion.
Perry has been appearing for NJPW since January 2024, when he attacked Shota Umino at the Battle in the Valley event.
The AEW star recently faced off against Umino at NJPW Windy City Riot, where he made numerous references to his history with CM Punk.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this was Perry’s final match with NJPW.
Noting that Perry’s return to AEW is imminent, Meltzer wrote:
“This was Perry’s final New Japan match and he’s starting imminently in AEW.”
It has been heavily speculated that Perry will interfere with the AEW Tag Team Championship ladder match slated for Sunday’s AEW Dynasty pay-per-view.
This ladder match will see Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR battle Matthew and Nicholas Jackson of the Young Bucks, who were the stars who in-storyline publicly released the Jack Perry/ CM Punk altercation footage.
Tony Khan has addressed the decision to air this footage, which you can read more about right here.
