There has been an update on the potential return of a top AEW star after over a year out of action due to injury.

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Jamie Hayter has not competed since last year’s AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, where she lost the championship to Toni Storm.
Ahead of the show, it was reported that Hayter was working through an injury, with her taking time off after dropping the title, and fans have been speculating about her future after over a year on the shelf.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), AEW learned shortly after Double or Nothing that Hayter would be unable to wrestle at last year’s AEW All In show at Wembley Stadium.
After All In, it became clear that Hayter wouldn’t be wrestling for the rest of 2023, with her later simply being sidelined indefinitely.

However, Fightful learned that Hayter was at an AEW Dynamite show in recent months, when the roster had to show up for their physicals.
The feeling within the company is that there had been some positive movement towards a potential recovery for Hayter, but Fightful was not told where that stands as of now, with her injury being a very serious one.
When Fightful asked within the company, they said that her appearance there was the most positive news towards a return that they had heard since she was sidelined last May, even though numerous AEW talent who were off TV were required to show up for the physicals.

AEW talent noted that they haven’t heard much if anything about Hayter as of late, and that her being backstage is not a regular occurrence these days, and that they haven’t seen her back since, or heard any general updates on her.
Those that spoke to Fightful said that she has been keeping to herself and focusing on recovering.
On top of that, there have been talent that have had matches pitched to them involving Hayter in the event that she returns, with those close to her and AEW being confident that a return is in the cards.
