WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart has provided an update on his AEW status for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

AEW ran it’s third annual Owen Hart Foundation Tournament earlier this month, with Daniel Bryan and Mariah May emerging victorious to earn World Championship matches at All In at Wembley Stadium.
WWE Hall of Famer appeared at the original AEW Double or Nothing event back in 2019, where he helped unveil the AEW World Championship, and has not appeared for the company since.
Many fans have speculated a potential appearance from Bret in AEW, notably for cameos in the Owen Hart Foundation tournaments to present the trophy alongside Martha Hart.

Speaking with Signed By Superstars, Bret discussed if he had ever been asked by AEW and Tony Khan to appear for the Owen Tournament.
He said:
“No. Never asked me.”

When he was then asked if he would accept if he were to be asked, Bret said he’d be happy to do it, but it may ruffle WWE’s feathers.
He said:
“I’d have to think about it. I like Tony. I’d be happy to help out. I don’t know if I would want to go down. I think it might ruffle WWE’s feathers. I get everything tied in through them. Then again, it can’t hurt to ask.”
