Former two-time AEW World Tag Team Champion Dax Harwood of FTR has opened up about future plans for his retirement.
With Harwood in the twentieth year of his professional wrestling career, the forty-year-old AEW star has revealed what he plans to do after he winds down on his in-ring work.
During an Instagram Live Q&A, Harwood revealed he plans to open a wrestling school and its already ‘in motion’, saying:
“So, my plans after being done in the ring are already in motion. I don’t know how much I can tell ya. But I can tell ya that there’s already a ring, there’s already a building, there’s already equipment and the idea is to obviously open a wrestling school with three of my friends.
“I’ll just leave it at that and you know, hopefully that will allow people to live a 20-year dream just like I did.”
Harwood wouldn’t reveal who will be involved in the future wrestling school were, nor would he reveal when he plans to retire.
Following his independent run, Harwood signed with WWE in 2012, debuting as Scott Dawson on NXT.
In 2014, he would team with Dash Wilder, who would go on to be Cash Wheeler in AEW, forming The Mechanics before being repackaged as The Revival in early 2016.
Together, they became the first team to be WWE Tag Team Triple Crown Champions, holding the Raw, SmackDown and NXT Tag Team Championships.
Renamed FTR, Harwood and Wheeler made their AEW debuts in May 2020 after been released by WWE in April of that year.
