Tony Khan has addressed recent reports that AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery negotiations are close to an end.
It was recently reported in The Puck that negotiations between both parties were “close to finalizing” a four-year deal.
According to the report, the deal is worth $170 million dollars per year for the three guaranteed years with a fourth being an option.
Neither AEW or WBD have confirmed a new deal at the time of writing, although Khan addressed the story on Busted Open Radio, saying:
“I didn’t bring my sunglasses to the Sirius studio today, but the future is so bright, I need them. The future is that bright.
“I know there have been a lot of reports. I have not done any of the leaking. With all due respect to the fine people at the Puck establishment and the Puck people, I didn’t talk to them.
“I know they have been reporting things that are very interesting. There are a lot of reports and rumors. I have not confirmed, and Warner Brothers have not confirmed anything officially.
“We have a really exciting future there. I can say with 100% certainty, AEW and TBS and TNT are here to stay for a long time,”
Tony Khan had recently addressed fans at AEW Collision & Rampage tapings to say that “AEW on TBS and TNT” is “here to stay”.
Khan also previously stated that “AEW is set to create a shockwave throughout all of professional wrestling” in response to reports that the company have filed a trademark application for “AEW: Shockwave”.
