A new home for AEW content has potentially been revealed, with a top star noting that he’s about to move to a new network.
AEW’s future on TBS and TNT has been unclear ahead of the company’s deal with Warner Bros Discovery expiring.
While reports have indicated that AEW could soon announce a new deal with Warner Bros Discovery, a former AEW World Champion has now stated “we’re about to get on FOX”.
Speaking with QueenzFlip, Strickland noted that he’s set to get on FOX, now WWE SmackDown has left the network.
Noting that they’ll have FOX on top of TNT and TBS, he said:
“We’re about to get on FOX now. SmackDown is leaving FOX, and then we’re taking FOX.
“TNT, TBS and FOX, we got all three of them things.”
New deals with Warner Bros Discovery and/or FOX haven’t officially been announced at the time of writing.
With AEW filing to trademark “Shockwave”, there was some speculation that this could be the name of an AEW show on FOX. You can read about these rumored negotiations right here.
Interestingly, ‘A Day In The Life Of Tony Khan’ – produced by NFL Films – recently aired on FS1.
We will continue to provide updates on AEW’s broadcast deal as they become available.
