The devastation that Hurricane Helene has caused across the Southeastern United States has seen more than 230 deaths.
The hurricane has been noted as “the deadliest mainland hurricane since Katrina in 2005” by ABC News after it passed across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee.
Speaking about the ongoing relief efforts in the region on Busted Open Radio, North Carolina resident and AEW star Adam Copeland revealed the lengths Tony Khan went to in assisting the Asheville police department.
Copeland revealed that the AEW owner had provided “stealth Starlinks” to the Asheville PD, saying:
“And I’m sure he wouldn’t ever want me to tell this but, they needed some stealth Starlinks instead of I guess the big ones that Elon Musk sent aren’t necessarily good for getting out in the mountains. With these things and drones over top to be able to start locating people.”
Starlink is a satellite internet constellation of satellites operated by Starlink Services LLC and owned by Elon Musk’s SpaceX.
The former AEW TNT Champion would go on to confirm he was referring to Tony Khan’s involvement, saying:
“So I reached out to Tony Khan, and guess who sent out a bunch of stealth Starlinks to the Asheville Police Department? I’ll say it because, you know… He’s been awesome throughout this whole thing.”
“Just throwing help wherever he can and I mean, so many people have been but, when you get an area that can’t get their hands on Starlinks and these particular ones, it’s like, okay, we gotta reach outside here and you know, I just thought of him, and sure enough, he came through.”
Dax Harwood, himself a North Carolina native, has confirmed Copeland’s comments in a tweet that read:
It took one ask. Tony didn’t hesitate and has helped beyond this. https://t.co/qkSzDWXGOh
