There has been some contract news revealed regarding the future for Cody Rhodes in WWE for years to come according to one report.
According to a report from Fightful Select, WWE is keen to sign Cody Rhodes to a contract extension.
According to Fightful’s sources, Rhodes and WWE have been engaged in ‘multi-year extension’ talks however the deal has yet to be finalized, the sources are confident it will get done.
The report notes that WWE is looking to sign Cody for the long-term as other pillar stars have recently re-signed including Bayley, Charlotte Flair and Rey and Dominik Mysterio.
In stark contrast to his exit from AEW as briefly mentioned in the Peacock documentary, ‘American Nightmare: Becoming Rhodes’.
When Rhodes’ AEW contract expired, he continued working for Tony Khan on ‘a handshake deal’ however the lack of sense of urgency was noted.
However it seems WWE is not looking to allow for any confusion as according to the report, they’re hoping to lock Cody Rhodes into a multi-year contract extension soon.
While the report notes that Rhodes’ got a new bus around Thanksgiving which led to speculation that a deal had been signed, nothing has been finalized, yet.
