Former two-time WWE Champion AJ Styles wants to face the babyface version of fellow former WWE Champion The Rock.
WWE is now a month removed from WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, which featured the in-ring return of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The Rock became a highlight of the WrestleMania 40 build with his heel turn and new “Final Boss” character that became the centerpiece for the main events of each night. However, it seems that one top WWE star would like a crack at the babyface version of “The People’s Champion.”
In a new interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, AJ Styles was asked about possibly facing The Rock in the future. He answered:
“Of course, I’m interested–but only if that means The Rock is turning babyface,”
“I’m not interested in being a mediocre bad guy. I want to bring this to a whole new level.”
The Rock and AJ Styles have something in common with their last major matches on WWE PLEs being against current Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Rhodes defeated Styles to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship at WWE Backlash. For the full results for the event, click here.
