Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has addressed his current schedule, comparing it to former champion Roman Reigns’ schedule.
Rhodes became Undisputed WWE Champion at WrestleMania 40, defeating Roman Reigns to end the Tribal Chief’s 1316-day reign.
One of the biggest criticisms surrounding Reigns’ title stint was his lack of appearances, with Reigns only defending his gold six times on in televised matches throughout the entirety of 2023 and first few months of 2024 ahead of the WrestleMania 40 main event.
While Cody Rhodes has had two televised title defences since April, he has wrestled in numerous dark/house show matches, and appears on WWE TV most weeks.
Speaking with WHAS11, Rhodes noted that he loves travelling and bringing the WWE Championship to cities around the world. Addressing Roman Reigns’ limited schedule, Rhodes said:
“I think one of the things I really love is the fact that I am able to go city to city. Whereas the WWE Champion prior to myself, the man I defeated, Roman Reigns, the Tribal Chief, was not on every city. He wasn’t making it to every show.
“And I’ve had the opportunity to be able to bring it – and for a year I felt like I was the champion without the belt. I was everywhere promising them, ‘Hey, I’m gonna bring you the WWE Championship’.
“It feels good when you can fulfill your promise and go back to these places and bring this (title).”
Roman Reigns hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since losing his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship, which has since been renamed the Undisputed WWE Championship.
An interesting update has emerged on Roman Reigns, who has potentially been removed from an upcoming show, which you can read more about right here.
